    Hi!

I have been recently diagnosed with IC and Vulvodynia. I noticed my symptoms really came out “of the blue” in April 2020. I led a perfectly “normal” life before April. I exercised, cycling was my favorite cardio, I drank alcohol and ate whatever I wanted. I was just wondering, if anyone else experienced this? And if IC and Vulvodynia usually go hand and hand. I have never heard of either of these conditions before April and I am trying to research a bit on my own to see how and why this happened to me since I lived a normal life before. I did have an allergic reaction to Bactrim in April so my only guess is that’s what triggered this condition. Just curious really if this is common….

    Thanks!

I just came across this and have not been able to find any story I relate to until I read yours- I’m 26 and in August 2020, thought I had a UTI so I was perscribed Sulfa antibiotics. I had a bad allergic reaction to the antibiotics (hives all over) and that HAS to be what set my IC in motion, because I was perfectly normal and healthy prior. Bladder feels constantly irritated (had my inflammed trigone area cauterized during a hydrodistention which helped with the tingling sensation I always had) but now my bladder just doesn’t feel right and I struggle with urgency and frequency, and sometimes pain with filling.

I’m trying the Wahl’s protocol (while also avoiding common IC trigger foods and drinks) and also trying to test whether a Gluten Free diet will help at all.
